ABOUT MATT JOHNSON
Escape Artist & Illusionist Matt Johnson is originally from the UK and now resides in Canada. Matt has been performing and perfecting his craft in the art of Magic and Escapology for more than 20 years.
Over the past 20 years he has literally traveled the globe. Matt has performed in exotic locations such as Japan, UK, Canada, Dubai, Italy, Argentina and Australia and for companies such as Norwegian Cruise Lines, Mercedes, Ford, AT&T, KIA, Toyota and Microsoft to name just a few.
Matt began his career in his hometown of Sheffield, England as a traditional magician and illusionist. On his travels around the world his knowledge in the arts grew and he picked up techniques and skills from the countries he visited and the people he met along the way. It’s this unique perspective that has allowed Matt to make his performances completely unique and utterly captivating.
Not your typical magician, instead Matt has crafted a style know as Urban Deception. A refreshingly cool mix of urban style street magic combined with the comedic timing and slick stage presence of a seasoned corporate performer.

Most recently in 2019 Matt was chosen as one of the TOP 50 ACTS IN THE WORLD to appear on The World's Best on CBS which aired to 22 million viewers right after Super Bowl. That same week Matt appeared as a guest on the Late Late Show with James Corden.
In 2018 Matt appeared to millions on the Italian HIT TV show Tu Si Que Vales. He also made it all the way to the Live Semi-Finals of the HIT TV show Britain's Got Talent which to date has earned him over 500 Million views on YouTube.
In the summer of 2017 Matt filmed at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas for Penn & Teller Fool Us and in 2014 he starred on SyFy's Wizard Wars, a show that sees the world's top magicians battling head to head.
